As Christmas quickly approaches consumers all over the country will be purchasing gift items. And fragrances are one of the most popular purchases at this time of year. So if you are trying to decide what stock to resale this winter, why not try fragrances?
There’s no denying how powerful this market is. Last year the UK fragrance market was worth an estimated £1.38 billion. And the industry has continued to grow. A study by Mintel found that consumers, both men and women, wear fragrances for a number of reasons. The study found that 70% of those questioned wore it to smell good, 54% wore it because of routine and 45% used it as a finishing touch when getting ready for a night out.
These figures clearly show how much fragrances are used in the UK – both designer and high street brands.
It’s estimated that women’s fine fragrances cover 82% of the market so in order to gain a maximum return on investment it could be wise to invest in designer fragrances. There are a number of wholesale suppliers offering some competitive deals on high-end fragrances. A wholesale case study by the Wholesale Scout team last summer demonstrates just how lucrative designer fragrances can be if sourced at the right wholesale price. The team found one wholesaler who could offer designer brands like DKNY, Jean Paul Gautier, Armani, Chanel, Boss, Gucci, Givenchy, Dior and more at wholesale prices. This wholesaler also only wanted a minimum purchase order of five units.
As well as designer brands, it’s worth looking at high street fragrances as consumers often look for cheaper alternatives if they are on a budget.
