Wii Mini Launches in Canada

The hotly anticipated Wii Mini will be launched before Christmas but consumers will only be able to buy the product in Canada.

The Wii Mini will be sold in Canada from 7th December and its retail price will be £62.

The console, which is more compact than its predecessor, has no internet connectivity and is designed purely to play Wii games.

Although this device will only be available to customers in Canada (for now) Nintendo are soon to launch the Wii U in Europe. The device has already launched in the US and sold more than 400,000 units in its first week.

The Wii U is a standalone device and comes with a Wii U Gamepad – which looks like a cross between an original controller and tablet. The controller has a 6.2 inch screen that can display what is shown on the television screen and sets the console apart from its competition.

Games consoles are a popular product all year round with consumers and are highly sought after. The Nintendo Wii has been one of the most popular consoles of the last few years, mainly for its versatility and family-friendly games. Many consumers look for competitive prices and search online for the best deals and so for wholesale buyers stocking games consoles can be potentially lucrative.

The Wholesale Scout team worked on a case study in 2009 which showed supplier details of Wii Fit products and a profit of £15 per unit.
